“Rainbow Little Calligraphers” Children’s Ballpoint Pen and Brush Calligraphy Competition 2024
In order to inherit and promote the excellent calligraphy culture of China, cultivate children’s interest and love for ballpoint pen calligraphy, and enhance their calligraphy skills and aesthetic abilities, we are organizing the “Rainbow Little Calligraphers” Children’s Ballpoint Pen and Brush Calligraphy Competition.

Competition Process:
1. Register for the competition before the registration deadline.
2. Download the competition topics from this page.
3. Submit your artwork via email to info@learningdolphin.com before the submission deadline. Please include the student’s name and grade/class in the email.
This competition is conducted online, and participants are only required to upload their files.
Competition Rules:
1. Participants are required to download the topics from the website and can choose to use pencils, blue or black ballpoint pens for writing. There are no restrictions on the font style.
2. The submitted artworks must be personally written by the participant. If it is found that the work is not original or someone else has written it on behalf of the participant, the participant will be disqualified.
3. Participants must upload a clear photo of themselves holding their artwork for verification purposes.
4. Ballpoint pen calligraphy artworks must be written on the provided manuscript paper and printed on A4 white paper, single-sided, using the provided writing format downloaded from the website. The printing size must be 100% original.
5. Brush calligraphy artworks can be freely written on Xuan paper.
6. Participants’ age must be accurate. If it is found that the age provided is incorrect, the participant will be disqualified.
7. The submitted artworks and videos must be original and should not have participated in any other competition. If the artworks or videos are published or disclosed in any form in public newspapers, websites, or other competitions before the announcement of the competition results, the participant will be disqualified.
Scoring Criteria:
1. Character Formation (50%): Evaluates whether the characters are well-proportioned, square, stable, and compact.
2. Stroke Technique (30%): Assesses the strength, length proportion, and angle of the strokes.
3. Composition (20%): Examines the overall layout for consistency, flow, and naturalness.
The judges will provide comprehensive scores based on the above criteria and reserve the right to make the final decision. Participants must respect and accept the judges’ results.
Award Categories:
1. Champion, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up: One winner each.
2. Honorable Mention (Scores above 85)
3. Excellence Award (Scores above 70)
4. Participation Award
Award Application and Production:
The association will individually notify the winners via WhatsApp to arrange for the completion of the award customization form and payment. All customized awards will be delivered by SF Express, and the delivery will occur approximately 8-10 weeks after the award customization deadline.
Registration Note:
Participants must provide the information of their mentor/institution/school or education center during registration. No supplementary information will be accepted after the publication of the competition results.
Other Terms:
1. The content of the submitted artworks must be healthy and positive, without any explicit, violent, pornographic, defamatory, or inappropriate elements.
2. The organizing committee reserves the right to reject entries that do not meet the competition requirements or have formatting errors.
3. The entries must not contain any commercial or political promotional elements.
4. If a participant’s qualification is revoked, the registration fee will not be refunded.
5. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
6. Participants under the age of majority must obtain consent from their parents or legal guardians and have them submit the artworks.
7. Participants and their parents/guardians must understand and agree to the competition rules and regulations. Violation of the rules will result in disqualification.
8. Participants agree that the organizers reserve the right to use and publish the submitted photos and videos for educational and promotional purposes.
9. The organizers reserve the right to make final interpretations and amendments to the competition rules.
